Hi,
My passport expires in Jan 2010.
Is there a time frame by which I need to renew passport? Can I go sometime this month or should it be within 6 months of expiration?

Hi,
I didnot receive my EAD yet, the online status says that Approval notice was mailed on Oct. 1st.
I would like to know if anyone is facing the same issue.
Can anyone let me know how should i proceed in this regard?

On November 27, the USCIS announced that they had received 58,900 H-1B petitions toward the 65,000 cap. So there are 6,100 numbers remaining, correct? (Update: By December 4, the USCIS had received 61,100 H-1B petitions toward the 65,000 cap.) Not exactly. We have Free Trade Agreements with both Singapore and Chile which set aside 6,800 "H-1B1" numbers for nationals of those countries. Do the math: 65,000 minus 6,800 equals 58,200. I have applied for I-140 in Oct 2006 and hvn't recd I-140 yet (Nebraska)
My 485/EAD checks got encashed today. My questions is do I need I-140 before FP or EAD card.

Saw in a IV post (looking for the link) that an NSC IO told that they will adjudicate applications with Name Check pending only if they dont hear back from FBI by November,08. Below link may offer some clues on why "November".

Not to read too much in to what one IO might have said...but Wanted to see if there is any truth to this as I remember seeing folks approved with Namecheck pending on some forums. So pl. post here if you fit in to the above category.

Hi friends
I travelled out of USA and am trying to get back into USA with AP. I am using H1B(not stamped).
THey temporarily transferred to me indian office for this duration.
I also have EAD with me(not yet started to use).Now My co. is not letting me to go back to USA
without a project.If incase i want to change my employer, how can I do it..
Will it hurt to go back without employers permission to USA and then to use EAD to get a job?
After this I plan to submit my resignation.For EAD, 180 days already crossed.
If I want to do the above,how many days I have to get a job with EAD with a new employer after I go to USA?
What are my options?

date: when your GC was approved (when I485 was approved). Place, usually you enter the name of service center that worked on your I485. For instance, Nebraska Service Center.

My wife's EAD expires 10/10/08, she is currently on H4 but we filed last july and got our EAD/AP. I am planning to send her to india in May and she'll be back in November around 4th (AP expires Nov 19th).
Please help me with info on these questions?
1. Does she have to be in USA to apply for EAD renewal?
2. Can she apply for EAD renewal in May (5 months in advance), I know AP cant be applied before 4 months but dont know about this EAD.
3. Or Can EAD be applied after it expires also, if yes till howlong after it expires?
4. Also she'll come back on 4th Nov and applies for AP immediately, is this OK if she applies before expiry date of Nov 19th but doesn't get the approval? (I know that she cant travel until she has a visa in passport or AP again)

I was in H1B visa(expires on Feb 2011). I got laid off from Employer_A from March 2009 and I transfered my I-797 to Employer_B in march 2009 itself through premium processing. It got approved and I have original approval notice also which expires on March 2012.
Now Employer_A likes to re-hire me back. I am also interested to go back. Do I need to transfer again from Employer_B to Employer_A?
Can I work for Employer_A with old I-797(expires on Feb 2011) ? I don't think Employer_A canceled or revoked my I-797 after they laid off.

Yes, your current & past paystubs(Primary H1B holder) are needed to grant H4 Visa for spouse. H4 is a dependent visa and is granted based on the primary H1B visa holder's status. In case of transfer from H1B to H4, his paystubs are also needed to proove that he was in legal status during this time.

my I-485 is pending; PD is oct 05.
my Labor Cert shows that we use job description of programmer/analyst. ETA Case shows title as "Software Engineer"
I have a job offer in Information Technology, will there be any problems if I use AC21 with the new company?
I have not yet accepted the offer.

Previously , I was working in Kuwait. My H1B got stamped in Kuwait.
I didn't face any problem in the visa interview.
However, I don't know much about UAE.
