Lots of activity to report. Congressional Hispanic Caucus leaders met this week with President Obama who said he wants a vote during the Lame Duck and would work the phones to round up votes. Harry Reid tweeted today that he'll offer the DREAM Act as a standalone bill which will hopefully help bring along a few of the "procedural" no voters from last September who indicated they like the DREAM Act but didn't believe in tacking it on to a budget bill. According to a FAQ on Murthy.com about the Yates memo, it is possible to switch jobs (using AC21) if 140 and 485 have both have been pending 180 days. Murthy doesn't advise this under normal circustances because if an RFE is received on the 140, then it is problematic if you've left the company.

1. I came to USA last year on H4
2. Filed H4-H1 in May 2005 through Company A
3. In Dec 2005 my company ( A) got merged with another company ( B)
4. My H1 got approved in Jan-06
5. Presently I am working and getting pay stubs for the new company -- B
What are the docs needed for transfer of my H1 to company C.

I do not see a problem in filing 2 Green Card applications.The one that comes first gives you a green card which most probably will be employment based.But you may consult an attorney as I am not one.
I am on H1 visa and I have a sister with citizenship.
I am wondering if I can file i-130 (family based immigration) now and file Employment based immigration later?
Is it OK to file 2 green cards applications? which one will take place then?

Hi Guys-
I am on H1B, working in US. I got my status changed from F1 to H1B last yr and never got it stamped ever since. I am going to get married next month in India and would require a visa stamp on my passport. I believe it is a straight forward process but would appreciate your experiences and suggestions for this.
1. I am planning to take visa appointments both for myself and my future wife togther at the Delhi consulate (ofcourse by paying separate fee). Can I do that here in US for both of us?
2. Once I get an appointment, we both should appear togther for the interview (for my H1B and her H4) . Right?
3. The forms 156 and 157 are required to be filled during the interview but not while taking appointments. Is it right?
3. I will take all my docs. along with our marriage certificate, and pictures from wedding. Do I need something extra to that?
Please suggest me any other important thing which I should be aware of in this process.

I can't see any good reason why they would do that unless they have a system to allocate the applications to adjudicating staff by State or by Region. Do the Chinese cite any reasons why they feel that way?

Mat - thanks - went to Adobe's web site and found out that CS3 does not support the RAW (NEF) files from the D300s. Would have to upgrade to CS4 to be able to load the D300s RAWs. Makes me wonder about Adobe - makes me glad I didn't plunk down big $$$ for CS3 - Elements works just fine for me!
